The Eco-Schools Programme encourages pupils to engage with environmental and sustainable development issues. The scheme was developed by the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE), and in Wales it is managed by Keep Wales Tidy
Our school Eco Council is led by Mr Evans. It aims to develop a love and respect for our natural environment, and an awareness of the impact that our daily activities have on the world around us. Children are elected to the council each year. We have gained the Eco platinum award.
This year, the Eco Council have taken part in the Spring bulbs for Schools project organised by the National Museum of Wales in partnership with the Edina Trust. They planted daffodil and crocus bulbs, and recorded temperature and weather data as they watched their bulbs grow.
We have been improving our garden area with the help of funding from the Local Places for Nature (Local Nature Partnership) funding and we have been increasing the biodiversity and sustainability of the area.
